Project Semicolon Houston chapter serves as a hub of awareness, information and support for all things mental health-related throughout the greater Houston area. The chapter is led by Marcel Wormsley, local mental health advocate and organizer of a series of informal biweekly peer support gatherings through his meetup group Houston Friends for Mental Health Awareness and Support.
We have a threefold mission:
- Support people with mental illnesses and their families by helping them find coping mechanisms for their daily struggle with brain disorders.
- Educate people who have mental illness, their families, and the general public about mental illness with the goal of dispelling ignorance and stigma.
- Advocate for more research and an improved system of mental health services in our community, as well as across the nation.
