Hi! My name is Bri. I’m 28 and live in California. From the time I was in high school, I can remember suffering from anxiety, but I didn’t know then that there was a term for how I was feeling. I just felt there was something wrong. When I got to college I started learning more about anxiety and depression. Fast forward to my 20s, I went to see a doctor and took a long questionnaire with him and did blood work to check my thyroid and other things. After my bloodwork coming out perfect and the questionnaire, my doctor diagnosed me with severe anxiety and moderate depression. It’s something I’ve struggled with for many years and I always felt so different and I felt like something was wrong with me. I never spoke to anyone about it, except my best friend in college. She helped me through so much. Now, I’m 28 and for the past couple of years I’ve spoken very publicly about my struggles with mental health and the struggles other face. I want to help in breaking the stigma that is mental illness. I have recently started my own small business and one of my main missions is to raise awareness about mental health and share things that help me during my times of struggle.
